DETROIT- Several General Motors executives involved in the vehicle production process will retire this year, GM announced in a July 30 statement.
Denny Mooney, vice president, global vehicle systems and integration, has elected to retire, effective Oct. 1. Mooney, 53, joined GM in 1978 as a college graduate in training at Oldsmobile and served in several engineering and business-team management positions. In 2001, he was named executive director, vehicle performance, for North American engineering, and in 2003 he became executive director, vehicle integration, also for GM North American engineering. He was appointed chairman and managing director for Holden in 2003 and was named to his current position in 2007.
