This summer, I’m taking on something a little different from my usual work in fleet.
I’m building a car to compete in the Corporate Derby Challenge at the International Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. It’s a chance to revisit a childhood dream of going fast, but this time with a purpose. We’re racing to raise money for The Hourglass Foundation, which supports students pursuing careers in the automotive and skilled trades.
In this episode, the focus shifts from the car itself to the people behind it. Because while I may have the idea, this team will bring this thing to life. From engineering questions to design decisions, and a healthy dose of uncertainty, this is where the build really begins.
Meet the Team: Gabriel, Matthew, and Angel!
Follow along as we figure out what we’re getting into, and take the first real steps toward Akron.
Thank you sponsors (so far!) Polestar, Flexco, NAFA, Mike Albert Fleet Solutions, AFLA, NTEA, Fleet Management Weekly, Wheels, ServiceUp, and Volvo.
