HOUSTON – U.S. Bank Voyager Fleet Systems, Inc., headquartered in Houston, is pledging $5,000 to the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund. The money to be donated to the Greater Houston Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will be used to support relief efforts currently taking place in Houston and surrounding communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike.
"In keeping with the spirit of helping our neighbors in Texas rebuild their lives during this time of natural disaster, Voyager is happy to donate the money to the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the victims of Hurricane Ike," said Michael Oleniczak, senior vice president, U.S. Bank Voyager Fleet Systems.
Voyager's emergency preparedness spared it from any loss of business during the hurricane. As the hurricane closed in on the Texas coast, a team of dedicated Voyager operations personnel relocated to the U.S. Bank Customer Service Center in Fargo, N.D. to ensure there was no disruption in service for Voyager's more than one million customers. Voyager's Houston offices have since reopened.
"The entire U.S. Bank team came together to support our Voyager customers.
A well structured, well executed emergency plan and support from our parent company, U.S. Bank, enabled us to remain open for business as usual in spite of massive power outages and flooding in Houston. Customers experienced minimal impact as calls were rerouted to additional support centers throughout the nation," Oleniczak said.
