HOUSTON and MODESTO, CA - U.S. Bank Voyager Fleet Systems has launched its first customized fleet card made from recycled plastic for its customer, Boyett Petroleum based in Modesto, Calif. The cards contain recycled content ranging from 25 percent to 100 percent. The alternative card materials perform equally to cards produced with standard plastic while providing a greener material to the card industry.

"Businesses today are seeking ways to implement environmentally friendly business practices," said Michael Oleniczek, senior vice president and program manager - U.S. Bank Fuel Solutions. "We are pleased to share this 'first' with our friends at Boyett and look forward to making recycled cards available to others in the fleet fueling community."

The recycled plastic card is being made for U.S. Bank by CPI Card Group, the Colorado-based global leader in commercial card production and services. U.S. Bank tested the cards for performance, durability, ink adhesion, lamination, die cutting and embossing. The alternative card materials performed as well as cards made from traditional polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Providing fleet card customers an option for recycled plastic is just one way U.S. Bank works to provide its clients with green options. As another example of the company's commitment to environmentally sound business practices, U.S. Bank participates in the PayItGreen(TM) campaign, which educates consumers and businesses about the environmental benefits of choosing electronic billing, statements and payments.
