UPS Wins EPA’s Climate Leadership Award
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Center for Corporate Climate Leadership recognized UPS with one of its Climate Leadership Awards for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, UPS said. The awards acknowledge the voluntary work organizations do to build resilience to climate change.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Center for Corporate Climate Leadership has recognized UPS with one of its Climate Leadership awards for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, UPS said.
UPS received the Excellence in Greenhouse Gas Management “Goal Achievement Award” for reporting publicly, verifying organization-wide GHG inventories and achieving publicly-set aggressive greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.
UPS reached its goal of reducing carbon intensity from transportation by 10 percent in 2013, three years ahead of the planned 2016 target date, according to the company. UPS plans to double its carbon intensity reduction to 20 percent by the end of 2020.
Three non-governmental organizations, the Association of Climate Change Officers, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, and The Climate Registry, co-sponsor the awards with the EPA.
