The University of Washington's College of Engineering is offering two workshops with Fleet Management expert John Dolce.
The University of Washington's College of Engineering is offering two workshops with Fleet Management expert John Dolce. Analytical Fleet Management: Improving Your Fleet's Productivity, is being offered Friday, Oct. 25 and Effective Shop Management, is being offered Saturday, Oct. 26. According to the University, in Analytical Fleet Management, Dolce will teach straightforward, cost-effective techniques to reduce expenditures, improve your work environment and strengthen your operation's image to staff and customers alike. The optimal specifications for vehicles in your operation and how to assess the costs involved in reaching them will be discussed in detail. How to budget improvements based on an analysis of your current shop and how to proactively approach maintenance activities will be explored from a real-world perspective. In addition, particular attention will be paid to performance indicators for fleets of variable mix and densities, including young, average and older vehicle age groups. The Effective Shop Management class will give participants the opportunity to practice specific techniques through activities that emphasize planning, organizing, prioritizing, implementing and evaluating. Upon completion, the University claims attendees will have learned practices that will benefit expenditures from 2 percent-5 percent annually. John Dolce has over thirty-five years of experience in vehicle maintenance and operations in the field of fleet management. His background includes experience with utility, federal, state and local government, private shops and multi-state locations.
