Taxi Cab Company of Tyler Inc., a taxi service for Tyler/Smith County area residents in Texas, reduced its fuel costs by $10,578 in 2012 by running five vehicles on propane autogas, according to the company. Taxi Cab Company of Tyler said they first switched to propane autogas two years ago.

In addition to Tyler Cab's public refueling station, the taxi cab company has built a private refueling station at its headquarters. Many companies with propane autogas vehicle fleets choose to install their own station due to the refueling infrastructure’s affordability and easy installation process, the taxi company said.

Texas consumes the highest amount of propane autogas, according to the Department of Energy. With more than 700 propane autogas fueling stations, it is widely available. Taxi Cab Company of Tyler joins many hundreds of other Texas vehicle fleets, including the Texas Department of Transportation, private organizations, municipalities, and more than 75 school districts who have made the switch to propane autogas across the Lone Star State.
