The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) met with senior officials of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on Nov. 1 to discuss a broad range of issues relating to truck security and anti-terrorism efforts.
Jim Rosen, chairman of TRALA’s government relations committee, along with TRALA’s Tom James and John Lynch, emphasized the impact on the national economy of the truck renting and leasing industry and the importance of balancing any security mandates with the potential benefits and risks of such actions. TRALA received a commitment from TSA officials that the agency will work closely with the association as future truck security programs and regulations are considered.
