Trimble and LocatioNet Sign Joint Marketing Agreement for Fleet and Mobile Resource Management
Trimble and LocatioNet, Inc., the developer of a comprehensive integrated platform for the delivery of location-based services (LBS) in the international wireless market, have entered into a joint marketing agreement to offer fleet and mobile resource management services using Trimble’s CrossCheck Global Positioning System (GPS) mobile device.
Trimble and LocatioNet, Inc., the developer of a comprehensive integrated platform for the delivery of location-based services (LBS) in the international wireless market, have entered into a joint marketing agreement to offer fleet and mobile resource management sergices using Trimble’s CrossCheck Global Positioning System (GPS) mobile device. Under the agreement, LocatioNet will offer Trimble’s CrossCheck mobile unit as part of a turnkey fleet and mobile resource management solution. The CrossCheck smart mobile unit integrates a GPS receiver,a wireless communication system and computing power into a compact enclosure. The unit can be used to determine and communicate current vehicle status, including position, speed, and direction, to LocatioNet’s LBS platform. It can also be interfaced with external accessories and sensors as part of an on-board system to monitor vehicle status and to activate vehicle security peripherals such as ignition lockout or audible alarms. The CrossCheck can automatically report arrival or departure from defined job site or home site locations. It also allows asset use calculations such as time spent and distance traveled on the job. It mounts conveniently in the vehicle and requires no operator access or involvement.
