Advantage Truck Leasing President and CEO Terry Young was unanimously chosen 2003-2004 chairman of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) at its annual meeting March 12-16 in Rancho Mirage, CA. Young challenged the association to strengthen the industry's exceptional safety and operational profile and to work with TRALA's leadership to expand association programs and services. Young predicted that TRALA is poised to become one of the leading trade associations within the trucking industry. "My prediction is that TRALA will unquestionably be the clearest and strongest voice in the transportation community," Young said in his acceptance speech on March 15. "For me, TRALA is the organization that stands out. First, TRALA is focused on its mission. Second, TRALA members approach every issue and subject with integrity. And third, TRALA members are willing to work together for the common good, setting aside their competitive differences to move the industry forward." TRALA, based in Alexandria, Va., is a voluntary, non-profit national trade association. TRALA's membership includes more than 650 leasing and rental firms and 100 suppliers that make up nearly the entire truck renting and leasing industry.
