Toyota has teamed up with technology company Toshiba Corporation and a number of other major Japanese corporate and public sector partners to test a carbon-neutral hydrogen supply chain powered by renewable wind energy, the automaker announced.
Under the four-year trial project, which will take place near the cities of Yokohama and Kawasaki in Japan's Keihin coastal region, wind power will be used to turn water into oxygen and hydrogen. The converted hydrogen will be stored and compressed, then transported to the Keihn cosastal region in a mobile fueling station.
