Toyota is recalling 116 2014 model-year FJ Cruiser SUVs because of a potential steering problem, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The intermediate steering shaft, which connects the steering wheel and the steering gear box, may have a faulty weld, NHTSA said. This poses the risk of steering control loss.
Toyota dealers will replace the intermediate steering shaft, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in March.
Toyota ceased production of the FJ Cruiser after the 2014 model year.
