Toyota is recalling approximately 700 2019 C-HR vehicles because the rear axle bearing bolts may not have been properly tightened and one or more bolts could become loose while the vehicle is in operation.
With this scenario, the loose bolts could potentially damage the rear brake components or cause the rear wheels to detach, resulting in reduced brake performance or a potential loss of stability. Both situations increase the likelihood of a collision.
To fix the problem, Toyota will notify owners starting in early November, and Toyota dealers will check the rear axle hub bearing for loose bolts. In the event it is needed, dealers will replace the rear axle hub bearing assembly and rear axle carrier sub-assembly with new ones, at no cost to owners.
