Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has recalled 9,468 of its smaller cars and crossovers from the 2020 and 2019 model years for an issue involving the seat belts, according to federal records.
Toyota's 2020 Corolla and Corolla Hybrid compact cars, as well as its 2019 to 2020 C-HR, have been pulled into the recall. Vehicles with rear seat belt assemblies with a dual-mode locking mechanism could have a defect where the seat belt's webbing sensor locking mechanism may not lock as intended.
