Town of Greenwich Appoints New Fleet Director

GREENWICH, CT - Jay Domeseck has been appointed to the role of fleet director, replacing recently retired long-time fleet director Elizabeth "Betty" Linck.

GREENWICH, CT - The Town of Greenwich appointed Jay Domeseck to the role of fleet director on Nov. 16.

Domeseck, 56, replaces long-time fleet director Elizabeth "Betty" Linck, who retired Sept. 30. In this role, he will be responsible for managing the town's 307 vehicles on the road, leading a 14-person fleet staff, and working with other municipal department heads. He will report to First Selectman Peter Tesei.

Prior to this role, Domeseck worked at the Arnold Bread plant on Hamilton Avenue as a fleet manager for George Weston Bakeries from 1995 until his job was outsourced in October 2008, the Greenwich Time said. He was responsible for 1,800 vehicles in the Northeast and Midwest for the baking giant, which is now owned by Bimbo Bakeries USA.

Domeseck also previously worked as an ambulance and transportation supervisor for Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn & Queens in Jamaica, N.Y.

He holds an associate's degree in automotive technology from SUNY Morrisville and a bachelor's degree in management and communications from Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.

The Town of Greenwich ranked #14 on Government Fleet's 100 Best Fleets listing for 2009.
