THINK Recalling 23 City EVs
WASHINGTON - THINK North America is recalling 23 model-year 2011 THINK City vehicles because of a potential problem with the gear shift.
WASHINGTON - THINK North America is recalling 23 model-year 2011 THINK City vehicles because of a potential problem with the gear shift.
THINK is currently selling the THINK City to fleet customers in select markets in the U.S. and plans to roll out retail sales later this year. The THINK City is an all-electric, zero-emission car designed for fleet applications and urban commuters.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, the linkage connecting the gear shift selector lever and the transmission park mechanism may have been improperly adjusted on the vehicles in the recall. As a result, there may be a lack of engagement of the park pawl of the transmission. This could lead to the vehicle failing to hold when the gear shift selector lever is placed in the park position, posing a safety risk.
