The 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback introduces updates to design, technology, and safety while maintaining Toyota’s reputation for reliability. It is offered in SE, FX Edition, and XSE grades and is expected to arrive at dealerships in Fall 2025. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starts at $24,180 for the SE grade, excluding dealer processing and handling fees.
Powertrain and Performance
All grades of the Corolla Hatchback are equipped with a 2.0-liter Dynamic-Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine that produces 169 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 151 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. Fuel efficiency is rated by the EPA at up to 32 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 35 mpg combined for the SE grade.
The vehicle uses a Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a launch gear for initial acceleration before transitioning to the pulley system. Paddle shifters, included on all trims, provide access to 10 preset ratios. Drive modes include NORMAL, ECO, and SPORT.
The TNGA-C platform provides a low center of gravity and a rigid structure. Suspension is handled by a MacPherson strut front system, with a multi-link rear suspension available.
Exterior and Dimensions
The Corolla Hatchback has a compact, muscular body design with character lines and available 16- or 18-inch wheels. Standard exterior lighting includes slim LED headlamps and LED taillamps. The XSE grade adds LED fog lights with chrome bezels.
