Classic Chevrolet, a dealership in Grapevine, Texas, has added compressed natural gas (CNG) to its portfolio of green fuels available to the public. The dealership's fueling station, Classic Clean Fuels, also offers biodiesel, E85 ethanol and regular unleaded gasoline.
Classic Clean Fuels will join approximately 14 other local CNG fuel stations scattered throughout the area. According to station manager David Gwin, there are plans to install a charging station for electric-powered vehicles. Although fleet vehicles are also welcome to fill up their CNG tanks, the station does not currently accept fleet cards.
"With GM beginning to sell CNG-powered vehicles, we decided to get into that market as well," added Gwin.
The station was officially opened April 1, and featured a number of speakers, including Dave Nottoli, Regional Director Chevrolet South Central Region; Mark Karney, Manager Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Specialty Vehicle Manufacturers, General Motors Fleet & Commercial Sales; and Ken Morgan, TCU Professor of Geology and Director of TCU's Energy Institute.
