Suzuki Recalls Kizashi Sedans for Fire Risk
The problem occurs if a spider crawls into the evaporative canister vent hose and weaves a web that blocks the hose.

Suzuki Motor of America is recalling 19,249 2010-2013 model-year Kizashi sedans because of a fire risk linked to the presence of spiders, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall covers vehicles manufactured from October 2009 through July 2012.
If a spider weaves a web in the Kizashi’s evaporative canister vent hose, the web might block the hose and cause the fuel tank to have an excessive amount of negative pressure. That pressure might cause the fuel tank to crack, resulting in a fuel leak that increases the risk of fire, NHTSA said.
To resolve the problem, Suzuki dealers will replace the evaporative canister vent line with one that has a filter on the end.
If dealer technicians discover that a spider web is, in fact, obstructing the canister vent line, the fuel tank will also be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge.
The recall began Aug. 12. Vehicle owners can reach Suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934. Suzuki's number for this recall is VG.
