Subaru of America Inc. will display its Starlink in-vehicle connectivity system, which delivers safety services via Sirius XM Connected Vehicles Services, at the New York International Auto Show.
The show takes place April 3-12 at the Javits Center.
Starlink has built-in AT&T 4G LTE capability to offer such Sirius XM Connected Vehicle Services as stolen vehicle recovery, automatic collision notification in the event of an air bag deployment, remote vehicle services such as lock/unlock via a smartphone device, and monthly diagnostic reports delivered by email.
Starlink will be available in select 2016 model-year Subaru vehicles starting later this year. A prototype of the new technology will be displayed on a 2016 Subaru Forester and at a Starlink kiosk on the Subaru show stand.
Starlink features an easy-to-use interface with just two buttons, the automaker said. Drivers have 24-hour access to a Starlink advisor who can help in an emergency or call for roadside assistance.
Starlink is also designed to work seamlessly with the in-car head unit to tap into such entertainment apps as Pandora, iHeartRadio and Aha. Additionally, the system allows the use of voice commands for music and navigation.
