Subaru Recalling Nearly 32,000 Vehicles

WASHINGTON – Subaru of America is recalling nearly 32,000 2012 model-year Impreza sedans and wagons (except WRX/STI models) as well as Legacy and Outback vehicles to address a potential problem with the brake master cylinder, reported the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

WASHINGTON – Subaru of America is recalling nearly 32,000 2012 model-year Impreza sedans and wagons (except WRX/STI models) as well as Legacy and Outback vehicles to address a potential problem with the brake master cylinder, reported the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The vehicles in the recall may be equipped with a brake master cylinder that could malfunction and cause an increase in the amount of brake pedal travel distance required to slow or stop the vehicle. This poses a safety risk.

Subaru will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will inspect the brake master cylinder and replace it, if necessary, free of charge.

The recall affects Subaru Impreza sedans and wagons manufactured from April 21 through Nov. 15 of this year, as well as Legacy and Outback vehicles manufactured from Oct. 17 through Nov. 23 of this year.
