The Subaru Outback earned the distinction of having the fastest order-to-delivery (OTD) time in the 2014 model-year, averaging 43 days from the time an Outback order was placed with the OEM to when the vehicle was delivered to a dealer.
This finding was based on the results of the 2014 annual OTD survey conducted by Automotive Fleet magazine and its seven fleet management company partners. The Outback also ranked at the top of the list among cars. The survey also ranked trucks, vans, and SUVs.
The participating fleet management companies were ARI, Donlen, Element Fleet Management, Emkay, GE Capital Fleet Services, LeasePlan USA, and Wheels Inc. The OTD survey traced deliveries of 145,836 new vehicles in the 2014 model-year, representing 104 different models.
Subaru redesigned the Outback for the 2015 model year, launching the fifth generation of the vehicle with upgraded safety and infotainment equipment. Read our Driving Notes blog about the 2015 Outback here.
