Steering Issue Triggers Nissan Rogue Recall
The recall, due to begin next month, affects 1,644 of the crossovers in the 2014 model year.

Nissan North America is recalling 1,644 2014 model-year Rogue vehicles because of a potential problem with the upper steering assembly, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The recall, expected to get under way by the end of June, covers Rogue crossover SUVs manufactured Jan. 10-17 of this year. In these vehicles, the wrong bolt may have been used to connect the intermediate shaft to the upper steering assembly. As a result, the bolts might loosen and fall out over time, leading to a loss of vehicle control, NHTSA said.
Nissan dealers will inspect and repair all the affected vehicles, free of charge. Rogue owners can reach Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
