The State of Maine has selected Wright Express to provide fleet fuel cards and management services to its largest fleet. The new contract includes nearly 1,500 vehicles controlled by Central Fleet Management and consolidates billing and reporting functions under Wright Express. A key part of the Wright Express management program is WEXOnline, an online account management tool that greatly simplifies fleet management tasks and provides relief to understaffed agencies with tight budgets, according to the company. Wright Express, a provider of fleet management services, has a separate contract with the Public Safety Department that brings the total state vehicles covered by Wright Express to about 2,500. A key feature offered by Wright Express is the reporting of tax exemptions, meaning the state is never billed for taxes it does not need to pay, thus eliminating the paperwork once necessary to re-ceive reimbursement. According to the company, other features of the Wright Express program include: consolidated accounts from billing to reporting to streamline fleet management; WEXOnline, which enables users to perform account management functions via the Internet; and pay at the pump capability.
