Spartan Motors Inc. is recalling 3,200 2010-2014 model-year Utilimaster Aeromaster walk-in vans because of a potential fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The recall affects vans manufactured from Jan. 1, 2010, through March 19, 2014. These vehicles may have a loose power connection at the power stud terminal block, which may cause arcing or high heat on the terminal, NHTSA said. This condition increases the risk of a fire.
Utilimaster dealers will inspect and tighten the electrical connection, as necessary, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin this month. Van owners can reach Spartan at 1-517-543-6400. Utilimaster, a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, is a leading manufacturer of walk-in vans and commercial truck bodies for the delivery and service marketplace.
