VALHALLA, NY - Steve Kirchner, chief operating officer (COO) of SOMS Technologies LLC, manufacturer of the microGreen Extended Performance Oil Filter, is one of the speakers who will present "Innovative Solutions on How to Save Money and Green Your Fleet" at the Green Fleet Conference 2009. The annual conference provides commercial fleet professionals with practical and affordable ways to "green" their fleet. This year's event will be held October 19-20 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Kirchner's presentation is part of an hour-long session that will begin at 2:05 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Kirchner is an expert in motor oil and oil filter preventative maintenance through his work with SOMS and as a former senior vice president of worldwide marketing for Valvoline Oil Company. The new microGreen motor oil filter is uniquely qualified to protect the environment and reduce the financial costs associated with periodic preventative motor oil and filter maintenance in fleet classes 1-6.

"Fleet managers are looking for ways to 'Green' their fleet by reducing their environmental impact," said Kirchner. "My presentation will demonstrate how our patented microGreen Extended Performance Oil Filter can help reduce their environmental impact and lower operating costs at the same time. I will review data from our extensive laboratory and on road customer testing, how fleets can reduce oil maintenance costs by 65 percent, decrease motor oil use by 70 percent and reduce the number of filter changes by 50 percent.  Although the microGreen filter has been commercially available for less than one year, we are extremely pleased that many of the top 20 commercial fleets in the U.S. as well as numerous local, city and regional fleets are using this new technology. They are extremely pleased with the performance of the filter and its ability to help their environmental and costs saving objectives."
