Gary Scanlon was named vice president — national sales manager for Piemonte National Fleet replacing the late Don Fenton, who died in an automobile accident in Seattle on Aug. 30, 2003. Prior to this, Scanlon was vice president, sale-new business development for Donlen Fleet Management Services in Northbrook, IL. While at Donlen FMS, Scanlon worked closely with Piemonte National Fleet in servicing unbundled fleets. "This unique opportunity will enable me to continue to parlay the excellent alliance formulated between Piemonte, my former company Donlen FMS, Inc. and other strategic partners to meet the needs of accounts that prefer an unbundled approach to their fleet services providers," said Scanlon. "The alliance has proven to be highly successful to date and building momentum every day." Russ Cass was named fleet director for Piemonte National Fleet assuming many of the responsibilities of Milo Matick, the late VP of fleet, who died of a heart attack on Aug. 6. Previously, Cass served as the fleet truck manager for 24 years at Piemonte under the direction of Matick and Fenton. Cass will be responsible for overseeing the operation and working closely with the sales and customer service teams. In addition, Colleen Schober was promoted to operations director and Michael Wenberg was named truck manager for Piemonte National Fleet. Previously Wenberg was with the Autotruck Group as a national account manager and has 20 years experience in the truck business.
