Flexcar, a provider of car-sharing programs, announced that it has upgraded the San Diego fleet with environmentally friendly Honda Civic Hybrids. There currently are three vehicles in San Diego’s Flexcar fleet, which are powered by a combination of gas and electricity. A fourth vehicle will be added in the coming weeks. Flexcar’s program provides its 14,000-plus members with access to a fleet of low-emission vehicles in five major cities – Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Washington, DC. Members pay by the hour and receive the vehicles for hourly use, while Flexcar pays for the vehicle costs, gas, parking, etc.
