Networkcar, a Reynolds and Reynolds company, announced on May 27 that its Networkfleet product has been named a winner at the 2004 Telematics Update Magazine Telematics Awards. It was selected as the Best Commercial Vehicle Solution. Telematics Awards recognize suppliers, OEMs, service providers and software developers who are bringing value to telematics products and services. The winner of each category was announced during the Telematics Update Awards Gala Dinner on May 25 in Detroit. Networkcar was selected as the winner in the commercial vehicle solution category including International Truck and Engine, QUALCOMM, TransCore, and Vetronix Corp. Networkfleet collects and organizes performance and location-based information directly from a vehicle's engine computer and global positioning system (GPS). This information is then transmitted wirelessly from the vehicle and made available online for fleets to monitor operating parameters such as location, diagnostic trouble codes, fuel efficiency, mileage, and speed. Networkcar's technology is compatible with virtually all cars manufactured since 1996 and heavy trucks manufactured since 1988.
