SACRAMENTO, CA - California fleets can now receive rebates on new zero-emission and electric vehicles of up to $5,000 per vehicle as part of the new Clean Vehicle Rebate Project ( CVRP). Certain zero-emission commercial vehicles are also eligible for rebates up to $20,000.
The program is funded by the California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board ( ARB) and administered statewide by the California Center for Sustainable Energy ( CCSE). A total of $4.1 million was appropriated from the ARB's Air Quality Improvement Program for the Project in order to promote the production and use of zero-emission vehicles, including electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and fuel cell vehicles. Passenger vehicles can receive rebates up to $5,000 and commercial vehicles up to $20,000. The ARB has already committed to additional funding to continue the program through 2015.
