MILWAUKEE – Propane industry experts recently gathered for WisconsinCleanCities’ “Propane in the Park” event to educate Milwaukee-area fleets about clean propane autogas technology. Charter Fuels showcased autogas-powered vehicles and discussed affordable vehicle conversions and fueling options for fleets through the Alliance AutoGas complete program.
“Switching to propane autogas helps fleets save money on fuel and maintenance costs while cleaning up the air in their local communities,” said Bill Langlois of Charter Fuels. “Autogas is a proven, reliable vehicle fuel that’s made in America and ready to use, now. Events like ‘Propane in the Park’ are a great opportunity to spread the word about the benefits of autogas and get more U.S. fleets running on this on this affordable clean fuel.”

Held in Lime Kiln Park in Grafton, Wis., the event featured autogas pickup trucks, several models of propane lawn mowers, and a complimentary propane-grilled lunch sponsored by AmeriGas. Bill Langlois and Josh Budworth of Charter Fuels exhibited two autogas Ford F-150s and propane mowers. Other industry experts on hand with propane-powered vehicles and equipment included Boehlke Bottled Gas Corporation, Ferrellgas, ROUSH CleanTech*, and the Wisconsin Propane Gas Association.
Propane autogas powers 18 million vehicles globally. “Autogas is the most viable alternative fuel on the market today,” said Budworth. “And with the complete program we can offer local fleets through Alliance AutoGas, fleets can make the switch to propane autogas at no upfront cost.”
AllianceAutoGas provides fleets with autogas vehicle conversions, installation of a fuel station at a fleet’s base, data integration for fuel management systems, operational and safety training, and ongoing technical support.
*ROUSH CleanTech will be exhibiting at the upcoming Green Fleet Conference & Expo, taking place Oct. 2-3, 2012 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg, Ill. (Booth #713).
