Duquesne Light Company announced its electric vehicle (EV) plan, including fleet conversion, education, and infrastructure. The Pittsburgh-based utility has committed to allocate at least 5% of its annual fleet purchases to EVs and related technologies.
In 2016, the company purchased plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles as well as two plug-in hybrid bucket trucks that use battery power to raise the bucket and power the vehicle when idling. For 2017, the company plans to purchase four additional plug-in trucks and will continue to evaluate technologies for fleet electrification.
