SAN FRANCISCO – Phoenix Motorcars, a California-based electric vehicle manufacturer, recently participated at the Low Carbon Fuels 2008, a two-day event in Sacramento featuring the latest in alternative fuel technologies. Phoenix Motorcars displayed its zero-emission sport utility truck (SUT) and participated in the "Ride and Drive" activity.

"This summit was an opportunity to meet with decision makers to discuss our electric vehicle's capabilities in effectively reducing operational costs while alleviating damaging emissions," said Bryon Bliss, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Phoenix Motorcars.

Officials from the California State Senate, California Air Resource Board (CARB), California Energy Commission (CEC), and Western Governors' Association (WGA) took time to personally drive the Phoenix SUT.

"Phoenix's SUT is a great example of how to harness alternative-fuel technology that provides power and precision to a truly luxurious spacious vehicle," said Pam Inmann, executive director of WGA, who drove a Phoenix SUT during Low Carbon Fuels 2008.

Phoenix's advanced battery-electric, zero-emission SUT can travel at freeway speeds while carrying four passengers and a full payload. Having a driving range of more than 100 miles, it is equipped with a non-toxic, revolutionary lithium-titinate battery, which can be recharged in less than 10 minutes, and has a battery pack with a life of greater than 250,000 miles.
