Fresh from setting a record for the Fastest Recorded Alternative Fuel Conversion to propane autogas in 1:32:25, the Alliance AutoGas converted F-150 is now set to embark on a 5,500-mile, 12-city “Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride.”

A program will be held on Monday, May 9 from 9-10 a.m. at ThyssenKrupp located at 3902 E. University Drive Suites 1-3, Phoenix. The event is being hosted by The Valley of the Sun Clean Cities Coalition in conjunction with ThyssenKrupp and Blue Star Gas.

Alliance’s new Engineered Conversion System on a Bi-Fuel 2016 3.5L Ford F-150 V-6 was converted to propane autogas almost 30 minutes faster than the predicted two-hour window at the 2016 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.

The F-150 is now “traveling the talk” on a 5,500 mile U.S. coast-to-coast trip that started May 2, trailering a propane mower. The propane mower is a 2013 Exmark Lazer Z Ultra Cut 60 powered by a 25.5 hp Kawasaki FX801 V-Twin gasoline engine, converted to propane by Alliance Small Engines.

The goal of the F-150’s trip is to underscore the importance and impact of reducing CO2 emissions through the use of propane autogas. According to Alliance AutoGas, “We want people to see first-hand, how simple and easy it is to convert a vehicle, how well it runs, and a how it gives the fleet manager a well-documented return,” noted Ed Hoffman, President of Blossman Services, Inc.

“Propane cuts exhaust emissions by up to 70% and we are excited to be part of the Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride. At ThyssenKrupp we use propane-powered vehicles in our fleet and are committed to reducing our environmental footprint by using alternative fuels,” said Tom Armstrong, director of fleet for ThyssenKrupp. “The awareness this program will generate will help educate people that viable alternative fuels are available and will encourage others to reduce CO2 emissions by switching to cleaner fuels.”

Blue Star Gas reports in Phoenix area Blue Star facilities over 1.5 million gallons of gasoline is displaced per year, 2,400 tons of greenhouse gas emissions is eliminated per year, and seven public refueling stations are installed. Blue Star has been serving private fleets since 2013.
