Marikina City, a city east of metro Manila, launched 20 special vehicles to benefit and ensure the safety of about 5,000 senior citizens as well as persons with disabilities (PWDs) in their travels anywhere in the city, according to a report by Gulf Today.
Vice Mayor Jose Fabian Cadiz of Marikina City said the “adaptive mobile vehicle” he himself designed is similar to a motorized tricycle (rickshaw) which has been elongated to accommodate a maximum of three elderly and PWD passengers each with the all the safety features for safe travel from one place to another, according to the report.
