Pennsylvania's Gov. Tom Wolf has approved 11 projects to further develop clean and renewable energy projects across the state, including the installation of compressed natural gas fueling stations.
The purchase and installation of a CNG fueling station for the AAA Club Alliance in Philadelphia County was approved for its Brewster Avenue fleet management facility, according to release. Funding of $74,993 was approved for the facility, which will have a daily capacity of 450 gasoline gallon equivalents, and will enable AAA to expand its CNG fleet over the next 14 years.
CNG Services in Crawford County was approved for a $538,500 loan for the purchase and installation of a biogas purification system at Bortnick Dairy Farm in Beaver Township, according to the governor's office.
The system will turn waste biogas into quality, pipeline-quality natural gas to be used as transportation fuel at CNG Services' fueling stations. The project is expected to produce approximately 2,500 gasoline gallon equivalents of compressed natural gas annually.
Additional project funding includes the development of a 2-megawatt combined heat and power system for a hospital and the construction of a new, high-performance high school building.
