Past AFLA President, Enterprise Remarketing Manager Janik Dies
Greg Janik, president of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) from 1986-1987, passed away on Sept. 8. He was 74. Janik was a long-time member of AFLA and a strong supporter of the fleet industry.

Greg Janik, president of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) from 1986 to1987, passed away on Sept. 8. He was 74. Janik was a long-time member of AFLA and a strong supporter of the fleet industry.
At the time of his death, Janik was retired as president of Reliable Outsourcing Inc. (ROI) and lived in Cumming, Ga. Prior to starting ROI in 2006, Janik was director of sales and marketing for Vehicle Inspection Services, which he joined in 2003.
Preceding this, Janik was assistant vice president and national account executive, vehicle services for Crawford and Company, where he worked from 1988 to 2003. While at Crawford & Company, Janik developed and implemented the first national vehicle inspection program serving the automotive leasing, fleet, finance, and rental industries. Earlier, Janik was the remarketing manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car from 1971 to1988.
In addition to his involvement with AFLA, Janik was an active member of the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA).
Friends remember Janik as being an avid country western fan, who loved the outdoors.
He was married to Karin Mickan Janik, his high school sweetheart, for more than 53 years. He is survived by two children – a son and daughter – and five grandchildren.
Janik received a bachelor of science degree in business management/marketing from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 1963. He was born in 1942 in Waukegan, Ill., and was boyhood friends with two other long-time AFLA members – Denny Sherry (deceased) and Jim McNulty (deceased).
