WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration this month posted an alert on its website reminding employers that OSHA publications and posters, including the "OSHA Workplace Poster," are available free to business owners at www.osha.gov/pls/publications/pubindex.list.

OSHA said it continues to receive complaints from employers who have received official-looking notices or telephone calls from so-called companies requiring that employers purchase OSHA documents from them in order to comply with federal law.

OSHA also said it has learned of a few cases in which con artists posed as Department of Labor or OSHA employees and threatened fines if employers did not purchase specific materials.
