Opel has revealed the Opel Grandland X compact SUV, the third member of the automakers Opel X family line of SUVs which look to capitalize on the increasing popularity of SUVs.
The Opel Grandland X will have space for up to five passengers and will feature a host of safety technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, driver drowsiness alert, and advanced park assist, according to Opel. It also features Adaptive Forward Lighting LED headlamps which offers functions that includes cornering light, high beam assist, and auto levelling.

The Grandland X, which will join the Opel Crossland X and Opel Mokka X on the automaker’s Opel X line of SUVs, features a luggage compartment load volume of up to 58 cu. ft. (1,652 liters), according to the automaker. The vehicle also features five driving modes with a system that adapts the torque distribution to the front wheels, allow wheel-spin if necessary, and an automatic transmission that adjusts shift points as well as throttle response. This helps adjust traction and keeps stable handling depending on weather conditions.
The connectivity features on the Grandland X includes IntelliLink systems and the connectivity assistant Opel OnStar, which offers services that includes the ability to book hotel rooms. It will also feature the ability to charge smartphones wirelessly via inductive charging.
Interior features of the vehicle include ergonomic seats, heated steering wheels, seat heating front and rear, and a tailgate that opens with a simple foot movement. The center stack features three horizontal rows of controls for access to infotainment, climate control, and chassis functions.
The Opel Grandland X will make its debut at this year’s International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany, Sep. 14 to 24. The SUV will go on sale in early 2018.
