Omnitracs has acquired cloud-based software provider Blue Dot Solutions and plans to incorporate its platform and products into the Omnitracs One telematics platform.
Blue Dot's MilesAhead product has been designed for the tranportation industry.
The acquisition will allow Omnitracs to upgrade its portfolio to offer a workflow app that improves a driver's quality of life; back office application that enables rapid configuring of fleet operational workflows; a data analytics engine with improved connectivity; and a centralized administration and management portal.
The acquisition is part of the company's plan to upgrade its telematics platform. In February, Omnitracs formed a partnership with Red Hat to leverage the open-source software provider's technology for Omnitracs One.
