Nissan Recalls Over 1.2 Million Vehicles for Back-Up Camera Issue
Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling an estimated 1,228,830 vehicles—spanning numerous models—for a back-up camera problem.
The recall includes 2018-2019 Nissan Altima (pictured), Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, and more.

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling an estimated 1,228,830 vehicles—spanning numerous models—for a back-up camera problem.
The recall includes 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Versa Note, and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. In addition, the recall includes 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles.
Specifically, the problem stems from the fact that the back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted in a way that the rear view image is no longer visible. Moreover, the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse.
The inability to see an image in the back-up camera display increases the likelihood of a collision.
To fix the problem, Nissan will notify owners in phases, and dealers will update the back-up camera settings software, at no cost to owners.
The recall begins Oct. 21 and all affected VINs should be activated by Nov. 11.
