Nissan Recalling 7,365 Rogues

WASHINGTON – Nissan is recalling 7,365 2011 model-year Rogue vehicles because the circuit board may have been installed incorrectly on certain electric power steering (EPS) assist control units, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

WASHINGTON – Nissan is recalling 7,365 2011 model-year Rogue vehicles because the circuit board may have been installed incorrectly on certain electric power steering (EPS) assist control units, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The problem may cause additional stress on the solder of the terminal to the circuit board, resulting in the solder cracking and separating completely from the circuit board, the NHTSA said. If the circuit board fails, the power steering assist feature will stop functioning, increasing the force needed to steer the vehicle. This poses a safety risk.

The Nissan Rogues covered in the recall were all manufactured from Aug. 17, 2010 through Oct. 30, 2010.

Nissan will notify vehicle owners of the recall, and dealers will replace the EPS control unit if necessary. There will be no charge for this service.
