NHTSA Offers July 4 Safe Driving Materials to Companies
Companies can take advantage of free marketing materials warning about the dangers of drinking and driving over the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is making available marketing materials to help companies and communities launch safety campaigns aimed at preventing drunken driving over the upcoming July 4 holiday weekend.
The Fourth of July weekend traditionally ushers in summer and is a time when Americans celebrate the nation’s birth with family, friends, firework displays and barbecues. But this is also one of the deadliest holiday periods of the year because of drunk driving crashes.
Over the holiday period in 2015, 146 people were killed in crashes involving at least one driver or motorcycle operator with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08 or higher, according to NHTSA. Additionally, 92 people died in crashes involving at least one driver or motorcycle operator with a BAC of 0.15 or higher — almost twice the legal limit.
