NHTSA Gives 2013 Buick Verano a Five-Star Safety Rating

DETROIT – GM announced that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2013-MY Buick Verano a five-star safety rating. GM also noted that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety had named the Verano a Top Safety Pick for the 2012 model-year. NHTSA’s testing involves front and side crash tests and evaluating vehicles for their rollover resistance.
Safety features on the 2013-MY Verano include 10 standard air bags, OnStar, a body structure composed of more than 60% high-strength steel, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, panic brake override, the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, and a collapsible pedal system designed to reduce the risk of leg injury.
Other safety features include a standard rear vision camera, an available side blind zone alert, and an available rear cross traffic alert system.
