The all-new 2004 GMC Canyon mid-size truck is available in three body styles, including Crew Cab, Extended Cab, and Regular Cab models. It also is available in a two-wheel-drive Crew Cab and High-Stance off-road models. Under the hood, the Canyon is available with two inline engines – the Vortec 2800 inline four-cylinder, and the optional Vortec 3500 inline five-cylinder. The standard Vortec 2800 2.8L 1-4 delivers 175 horsepower. Other powertrain features on the Canyon include an all-new five-speed manual transmission; a new transfer case for four-wheel-drive models, and the four-speed Hydra-matic 4L60-E automatic transmission. Canyon is available with a six-foot cargo box (five-foot cargo box on the Crew Cab), along with two-tier loading and a locking tailgate.
