SAN DIEGO — Networkcar, a Reynolds and Reynolds company specializing in remotely monitoring vehicle location and diagnostics, has been awarded an honorable mention in the 2005 Mobilizer Awards in the Large Deployment Category. The awards are presented by Mobile Enterprise Magazine and honor the most effective mobile technology deployments of the year. Networkcar received the award for the deployment of its Networkfleet wireless fleet management solution with Hoffman Southwest, the largest Roto Rooter franchisee in the nation. Networkfleet collects and organizes detailed performance and location-based information directly from a vehicle’s engine computer and a global positioning system. This information is then trans-mitted wirelessly from the vehicle and made available to fleet managers via a personalized Web site, accessible 24/7. Vehicle location and diagnostics information enable fleet managers to reduce operating costs, improve driver productivity, and more efficiently manage their assets. Last July, Hoffman initiated a company-wide rollout on approximately 350 light, medium, and heavy trucks and vans. Networkfleet has become a standard aftermarket product for the Hoffman fleet and is installed on all of its new-vehicle additions. As a result of this deployment, Hoffman has realized a 150 percent return on investment in the form of reduced labor costs, increased revenue, and improved vehicle maintenance over the past eight months.
