SAN DIEGO – Networkcar, a company specializing in remotely monitoring vehicle location and diagnostics, has won a Stevie Award for the “Most Innovative Company” at the 2006 American Business Awards annual gala in New York City. Networkcar was recognized for its innovation in product development for its Networkfleet wireless vehicle management system for commercial fleets. Networkfleet’s in-vehicle device collects and wirelessly transmits data directly from a vehicle’s engine computer and from a global positioning system. Fleet managers can log on and view specific vehicle data such as current location, fuel consumption, mileage, speed, and idle-time, 24/7 through a Web application. The Stevie Awards were presented in more than 40 categories including “Best Overall Company,” “Best Executive,” and “Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program.” More than 1,500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration. Winners were announced during the annual gala on Mon., Jun. 12, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
