Nationwide Insurance Finds Friday is Most Dangerous Day to Drive to Work in 2012

COLUMBUS, OH - Nationwide Insurance stated it found Friday to be the riskiest day to drive to work after analyzing claims data from 2012. The company found that its members have the highest average number of claims per day on Friday, at 4,664, and the second highest number of claims on Wednesday, at 4,197 claims. From there, Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday rank in order, with Tuesday being the least dangerous day to drive to work.
Nationwide announced these findings during Drive Safely Work Week (Oct. 1 – 5), which is a program organized by the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS).
Nationwide also noted that NETS reports being rear-ended and rear-ending another vehicle are two of the most frequent types of crashes for fleet drivers and those in the general population.
