Alt-fuel technology was front and center at the recent NAFA PSW Chapter Meeting in Downey, Calif. Chrysler, Ford, GM, and Honda shared details about their alt-fuel portfolios to a gathering of fleet managers, OEM representatives, and fleet management company (FMC) personnel at the Southern California headquarters of Sempra, itself a champion of alt-fuel technology in the form of compressed natural gas (CNG).
In addition, several upfitters also were in attendance — with examples of their upfit vehicles represented in a parking lot vehicle showcase.
The theme of the presentations was summed up by GM’s Clay Okabayashi. “It’s all about energy diversity,” he told the audience. GM’s portfolio includes biodiesel, CNG, propane autogas, and electric range extender models.
