SCHAUMBURG, IL – John Davis, producer/host/creator of MotorWeek, kicked off the 2012 Green Fleet Conference this morning with a review of the state of today’s green vehicle market.

“No matter what the critics say, we are in a vehicle revolution,” Davis said. “It doesn’t matter whether you are in an electric or other type of vehicle. This change is affecting every city across the U.S., whether people realize it or not.”

During his presentation, “The State of the Green Vehicle Market and the Latest OEM Offerings,” Davis commented that the industry is going through the biggest change since the beginning of the automobile.

In addition to his role as producer, host, and creator of the MotorWeek automotive series, Davis also writes a bi-weekly feature on automotive industry topics in The Washington Post.

Today’s conference lineup includes GE’s Sustainability Energy Program Leader Johanna Wellington, discussing the current state of the alternative fuels market and providing a glimpse into future trends and innovations; a panel featuring Deli Express’ Gregg Hodgdon and the suppliers who helped create an efficient and lightweight truck design to help the fleet reduce fuel and emissions; and a session on maximizing resale values for hybrids and other alt-fuel vehicles.
